Turn your school trip, activity day or project day into an active city experience with our digital Dresden City Rally. Students compete in small teams, explore Dresden independently and try to collect as many points as possible within 150 minutes.
The experience is about much more than the final result. The groups need to find their way around the city, use their available time wisely and decide together which stops they want to visit. They solve puzzles, observe their surroundings, answer questions and develop their own strategy for the route.
In this way, the city rally combines movement, teamwork, historical content and playful challenges. Instead of discovering Dresden as part of a traditional guided tour, students become active participants and explore the city in their own way.

The Scavenger Hunt is set up exclusively for your class or youth group. Only the teams taking part in your event appear in the high score. Other players and external groups are not included in the ranking.
This creates a clear and motivating competition within your own class. Once the 150 minutes have ended, you can see how many points each team has collected and which group organised itself most effectively.
A separate high score and showdown link allows you to display the results on a smartphone, tablet or larger screen. You can review the rankings together, highlight creative solutions and crown the winning team at the end.
This gives the rally a clear structure: everyone starts together, the small groups explore Dresden independently and the class meets again afterwards for the final evaluation.
Once the rally begins, the same countdown starts for all teams. Within 150 minutes, each group tries to collect as many points as possible. There is no fixed route.
Instead, numerous stops are available throughout Dresden. Each team decides which locations to visit and in which order to complete the tasks. This leads to different routes and individual game strategies.
Some groups focus on short distances and completing a large number of stops. Others deliberately choose tasks worth more points or concentrate on specific areas of the city. Each team must continuously weigh up its options: Is the next stop still worth the journey? Is there enough time left for more tasks? Or would a nearby challenge be the smarter choice?
This freedom of route planning means that the groups do not all follow the same path side by side. The teams spread out across the city and largely shape the competition themselves.
All teams begin at the same time and play against the same countdown. A variety of stops is available, and they do not have to be visited in a fixed order.
The students plan their own route. They need to decide which paths make sense, how many tasks they can complete within the available time and when it may be better to skip a stop.
This leads to different strategies. Some groups choose stops located close together, while others accept longer walking distances in order to reach tasks worth more points. During the rally, the teams regularly need to reassess their plan and adapt it to the remaining time.

The tasks cover topics such as the Saxon electors, Augustus the Strong, Dresden’s Baroque Old Town and the reconstruction of the city. At the same time, the teams examine buildings, squares, monuments and visible traces of Dresden’s history.
The information is linked directly to the locations. This means that students do not simply learn isolated facts, but discover historical connections in the places where they can actually be seen.
In this way, Dresden becomes more than just the setting for the rally. It becomes a lively place for learning and discovery.
A variety of task types awaits the teams at the individual stops. These include knowledge questions, observation tasks, puzzles and smaller challenges that require close attention.
Many answers can only be found when the students examine their surroundings carefully and share their ideas within the group. Different abilities can contribute to the team’s success: some students may be good at navigation, while others notice important details, develop solutions or keep track of the remaining time.

The photos and videos submitted during the creative challenges are collected in a private event gallery. After the scavenger hunt, you can view the content together and make it available to your group.
