On this page we answer all important questions about our mytabgame scavenger hunt tours and games. Here you will find helpful information about the procedure, booking and the general process of our offers.
How do I book a mytabgame scavenger hunt tour or game?
You can get tickets for a mytabgame product quickly and easily in our ticket store.
Immediately after your purchase, you will receive an email with all the important information about your tour and the access data for the mytabgame app.

You will receive access to your game immediately after purchase – the link and your access data will be sent to you by e-mail.

It’s best to take a look in your spam or junk folder if you don’t find anything.

You then have a whole year to start the game.

All you need is a smartphone or tablet with:

  • charged battery
  • mobile internet connection
  • activated GPS (location access)
  • our mytabgame app

 

You will receive the download link to the app by email immediately after purchase.

Yes, simply download the mytabgame app, enter your user name via a guest account and click on the main game “Potsdam goes mytabgame” to test a few stations in Potsdam for free without GPS before purchasing.
As this is a digital product, a refund after purchase is unfortunately not possible. We ask for your understanding.

For your mytabgame scavenger hunt, you will need the free mytabgame app and the access data that you will receive by email immediately after purchase. This will allow you to log in to the app and start your tour.

For some products, our browser-based web app is also sufficient (sometimes shown).

Our scavenger hunts and games are mostly GPS-based – that means:
You must be close to the respective game location with your smartphone or tablet (e.g. 50 meters) for the next task to open.

It is therefore not possible to play at a distance.

The pure playing time (without breaks) is – depending on the tour – between 1 and 4 hours. You can find the exact duration directly with the respective game or in the tour description.

You can start a mytabgame flexibly and pause most of the games at any time – even over several days.

Some products (e.g. City crime games) may be subject to a limited playing time (e.g. 120 – 180 minutes). Please always refer to the respective product description.

You can play our tours and games in German or English. The language can be easily set in the app under ‘Language’ – and can also be changed in the middle of the game if required.

Look forward to lots of variety – from photo and video tasks to multiple choice, text, sorting, puzzle, QR code and matching tasks as well as open questions and creative challenges.

For all those who like to go on an active and playful discovery tour – whether as a couple or in a small group. Our tours combine fun, adventure and flexibility: spontaneous, individual and at your own pace. You can also choose how to get around – on foot, by bike or however you prefer.

We recommend playing with 1-3 people per smartphone or 3-5 people per tablet – this keeps the experience manageable and fun for everyone.

Please note: A purchased game can only be actively used on one device at a time.
If you log in with the same access data on another device during the game, the game status will be saved, but the device originally used will be automatically logged out.

You want to play in several teams – together or against each other? Then get a separate ticket for each team. This way, each group can start with its own device and play the tour independently.
The majority of our mytabgame products are designed to be barrier-free and pushchair-friendly. However, please note that, depending on the city, unforeseeable obstacles may occasionally occur – for example due to construction sites or temporary closures. There are also exceptions. We recommend following the instructions in our product descriptions.

We accept no liability for damage to smartphones, tablets or other personal items or for accidents or similar incidents while using our products.

Tips for a safe and smooth process:

  • Use a protective case for your smartphone or tablet – especially on outdoor tours.
  • It is best to use a carrying strap or shoulder bag so that your device does not accidentally fall to the ground.
  • Hold your device firmly, especially when taking photos or filming in motion.
  • Avoid crossing roads carelessly while playing. Safety always comes first.
  • Protect your device from rain and moisture – a small zip bag can work wonders in an emergency.
  • Pay attention to your surroundings, not just the screen – especially in busy or confusing areas.

 

More general tips for your tour or gaming experience with mytabgame:

  • Take a water bottle with you – especially on longer tours or in warm weather.
  • Sun cream, sunglasses or an umbrella depending on the weather – the tour is more fun in any weather if you are prepared.
  • Check the starting point on the map in advance so that you can set off relaxed.
  • Allow yourself enough time for breaks, photos and spontaneous discoveries – it shouldn’t be a race.
  • Wear comfortable clothes & shoes: Comfortable shoes are worth their weight in gold, especially on city tours – even if there are a few stairs.
  • If there are several of you playing: Talk to each other, assign roles – make it even more exciting together!
  • Sometimes it pays to simply put your cell phone aside for a moment and consciously take in your surroundings.
  • Take souvenir photos – but with a sense of proportion, i.e. enjoy the moments live, not just through the camera.
  • A small snack in your rucksack can work wonders during longer games.
  • Make sure your device is fully charged before playing.
  • Wear comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing – suitable for the season.
  • Stay alert and careful, especially in traffic.
